Joly Families: Anytime

One year ago I had the pleasure of photographing baby Jack and his lucky mom and dad as they just started out as a new family. A few weeks ago I was able to capture Jack again (as he turned 1) as well as his cousins and family visiting from Canada.

This is one of my favorite images from that morning. Everyone's eyes were so focused on the camera and the way that Jack was playing with his cousin's hair. So cute!

I Heart Faces Challenge: A Slice of Life

This week's iheartfaces photo challenge is entitled: Slice of Life. To me, this image certainly captures what an everyday moment in life can be. Last week, one of my great friends needed a babysitter for her twins and I gladly volunteered my help. This little guy was just exploring all the toys in his play area, maybe wondering why he wasn't at daycare, certainly interested in the big camera focused on him. But in the end, he went about the business of a 1 year old: playing, eating, sleeping, living the good life.

At 36 weeks pregnant, my little sister has never looked so beautiful. She came to me at 36 weeks for some photos to document the little bump that is my future nephew.

It's Time For A List

Since it's Thursday. Since Winter is back and I don't know what coat to wear. Since I have a lot on my mind. Here is a list...a list of lovely things.

I have a new nephew...he's 2 days old and I'm in love. Pictures soon!!

I can't get this song out of my head...and this is my favorite version. Love it EVERY.TIME.

This photo is killing me...and I wouldn't mind owning the hat either. I'm a sucker for a silly hat.

Netflix streaming on my ipad is AWE.SOME. Watched Kings of Pastry last night in bed. Yes I did. What should I watch next? I'm thinking this.

Made these for dinner last night. Yum. (tuna, tartar sauce, and green onion options)

I have a date with my hubby tonight. Dinner and a movie! Must use our Groupon before it expires (today!!)

Looking forward to seeing him live this summer. 3 times. (looking forward to is a gross understatement)

I'm trying to learn Twitter. Am I the only one who is confused? Who should I follow?

If we ever have kids I'm going to aim for a Fall birthday. All of my 8 nieces/nephews were born between Feb 27th and May 21st. Even weirder 2 of them share a birthday (9 years apart), 2 are only 1 day apart (the same year), and 2 are 2 days apart (4 years between them). Does this happen in anyone else's family?

Maija, Pete + Jana: Siblings

Not 1 or 2...but 3 of the most adorable kids on the planet live next door to us. And if you've read this blog before, you've probably seen their pictures 1 or a few times. Last summer...a snowy winter day...I'm already trying to make them sign a contract for senior and wedding photos on these kids :)

First is Maija. Creative, kind, and always helpful. She always has a wave and "hi" for us over the fence.

Then there's Pete. Engergetic and playful...he likes to say that George (my husband) is his best friend.

The newest member is Jana. Sweet, dear, and always happy. She's the perfect addition to the family of (now) 5.
